A five-time Big Ten Athlete of the Year, Erin Finn has built a storied athletic career at the University of Michigan. Now pursuing a MPH in Epidemiology, she shares her passion for science and her aim to bring public health training to medical practice.
College held held lots of possibility—and some uncertainties—for Madison Van Epps. Her life aspirations converged when the University of Michigan School of Public Health launched an undergraduate program and she joined the first cohort.
As a member of the Michigan Public Health Community, Jenny Crawford has become actively involved in the school’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives by being an advocate for change and creating space for healthy discussion.
That year in Uganda was “the most challenging and the most fulfilling year of my life,” Mosley says. “And as much as it got me interested in global health issues, it reaffirmed my desire also to be deeply engaged here in the States with public health issues.”
Jain regularly reached out to the most diverse voices he could find, listening and challenging himself. “People embody the Michigan difference,” Jain says. “Those around me provide different angles on everything from academic to personal interests.”
Abilene Emerson (MPH Candidate, Environmental Health Sciences) completed an industrial hygiene internship last summer at Bell’s Brewery in Kalamazoo, as the safety intern. In this short video, Abilene describes one of the many health and safety projects she worked on, a noise exposure assessment of all the lines in the massive complex.
