Makala Conner, a master’s candidate in the Department of Health Behavior and Health Education at the University of Michigan School of Public Health from Detroit, hopes to one day influence the health of marginalized populations domestically and globally.
Nurses are taught to see the big pictures of their patient’s lives—from homelife to water and air quality to employment. Wherever health care and communities intersect, public health nurses are there caring for patients and populations. This sense of expanded community gives online MPH student and full-time oncology nurse Chris Rudski hope that we will soon be living in a richer, more vibrant world.
Katherine Hoffman was drawn to medicine and health care from a young age. When she realized that biostatistics would let her engage any other field in the health sciences, she decided to pursue it in graduate school and now loves to share the many ways a career in biostatistics can unfold.
