Community Based Organization
CBOs are public or private nonprofits (including a church or religious entity) that are representative of a community or a significant segment of a community, and are engaged in meeting human, educational, environmental, or public safety community needs.
Below you can find examples of past field experience sites and the project the students of that cohort worked on.
Habitat 4 Humanity
Habitat 4 Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization dedicated to building strength, stability, and self-reliance in partnership with families in need of decent, affordable housing. Operating in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and approximately 70 countries, Habitat envisions a world where everyone has a decent place to live. By engaging families in the home-building process alongside volunteers, Habitat empowers homeowners who then pay an affordable mortgage. This collaboration not only provides families with a secure place to gather and grow but also transforms their lives by reducing stress and fear, thus fostering stability and confidence.
Past Field Experience Projects
