CDC John R. Lewis Undergraduate Public Health Scholars (Lewis Scholars) Program

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Office of Minority Health and Health Equity (OMHHE) supports internship opportunities for eligible undergraduate and graduate students to gain meaningful experiences in public health settings. FPHLP is one such internship opportunity under the CDC John R. Lewis Undergraduate Public Health Scholars (Lewis Scholars) Program that prepares a diverse body of students to consider public health as a career to ensure a future where the American public benefits from a more diverse and better trained public health workforce.

FPHLP is part of the Lewis Scholars Program along with programs at Columbia University, Morehouse College, Kennedy Krieger Institute, Southern Plains Tribal Health Board, University of Pittsburgh, and University of California, Los Angeles. All programs share FPHLP’s commitment to educating and training leaders who will become a part of a diverse public health workforce. Students may apply to multiple Lewis Scholars sites.
