The United States spends more on health care than any other developed country, yet the quality of health care and life expectancy in the US are well below its peer nations. That discrepancy is the impetus for Andrew Ryan's research.
I stumbled on community health classes my sophomore year. I thought, this is everything I wanted. I care about people, health and helping communities as much as possible. It allowed me to draw knowledge from different fields to address the health needs of the population.
Through Innovation in Action, I connected to students across campus to find solutions to public health problems. It becomes a big part of your life when you're doing it.
