School of Public Health Office of Student Life
The office of Student Life provides resources for students to ease their transition to the School of Public Health, support student initiatives and student organizations and serve as a primary liaison for students. We also deliver programming to enhance the student experience, engage in student advocacy, provide one-on-one counseling and facilitate academic administration.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
Services are free, confidential, and available to currently enrolled students. Services include:
- Brief counseling for individuals, couples and groups
- Consultation to students, faculty, staff, and parents
- Assistance with referrals to community resources
- Crisis interventions
Office of the Ombuds (for students)
The Office of the Ombuds is a place where student questions, complaints and concerns about the functioning of the University can be discussed confidentially in a safe environment. The Office offers informal dispute resolution services, provides resources and referrals, and helps students consider the options available to them.
International Center
The mission of the International Center is to provide services and programs for the diverse community at the University of Michigan by accomplishing its core work to SERVE the international population, FACILITATE intercultural and international education, and FOSTER a global campus community.

Faculty and Staff Counseling and Consultation Office (FASCCO)
The Faculty and Staff Counseling and Consultation Office (FASCCO) provides support and assistance to University staff and faculty in resolving personal or work related concerns. Through a range of sensitive and innovative services, FASCCO seeks to enhance the emotional health, well-being and job performance of members of the university community. By providing confidential and professional counseling, coaching, training and consultation services to staff, faculty, retirees, benefit t-eligible adult dependents and departments, FASCCO helps individuals develop and foster strengths and resiliency to enhance their personal and professional lives.
Center for Education of Women +
CEW+ empowers women and underserved individuals in the University of Michigan and surrounding communities by serving as an advocate and providing resources to help them reach their academic, financial, and professional potential.
International Center
The mission of the International Center is to provide services and programs for the diverse community at the University of Michigan by accomplishing its core work to SERVE the international population, FACILITATE intercultural and international education, and FOSTER a global campus community.
University of Michigan ADVANCE Program
The ADVANCE Program focuses on four areas relevant to the success of a diverse and excellent faculty: recruitment, retention, climate, and leadership development. Together, these encompass not only multiple stages of faculty careers but also multiple mechanisms by which faculty diversity and excellence at U-M are enhanced. The strategies we use to address our goals can be broadly categorized as: research and evaluation; knowledge and skill development; community building; and resources and support.
The University Faculty Ombuds
The University Faculty Ombudsprovides information, options, impartial review, and help in resolving conflicts, and they offer feedback and recommendations for system change to senior administration. Using an alternative dispute resolution sensibility, or perhaps more apt, an appropriate dispute resolution sensibility, the ombuds can provide options to whistleblowers or members of the organization with ethics concerns; provide coaching, shuttle diplomacy, generic solutions (meaning a solution which protects the identity of one individual by applying to a class of people, rather than just for the one individual) and mediation for conflicts; track problem areas; and make recommendations for changes to policies or procedures in support of orderly system change.
University Psychological Clinic
The University Psychological Clinic offers compassionate, confidential mental health
services for adults, including one-on-one therapy, group therapy such as mindfulness
through meditation and cognitive behavioral therapy for
social or performance anxiety, couples counseling, testing for things like ADHD and
more.
University Center for the Child and Family
The University Center for the Child and Family offers a comprehensive range of mental health services for children, adolescents, and families, as well as free and low-cost workshops, typically addressing topics such as parenting through separation and divorce, ADHD and learning disabilities, and developing coping skills.
