Master of Public Health (MPH)
With a Master of Public Health degree you’ll build the knowledge and skills needed to become a public health professional. Our MPH degree programs offer students the opportunity to customize their degree with concentrations, gain hands-on experience through internships, and emphasize practical experience in local and global communities.

Master of Science (MS)
A Master of Science degree is designed for students who want to pursue careers in academia and/or research. An MS is often a prelude to a doctoral degree (PhD) in a public health field. Requirements, including internships, vary by department and program.

Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA)
The Master of Health Services Administration is designed to provide a well-rounded professional education to those aspiring to leadership positions in the administration, management, and planning of health services in public and private settings like hospitals, clinics, and nonprofits.

Dual Degrees
Michigan Public Health offers students the opportunity to pursue formal Multiple Dependent Degree Program (MDDP) or self-initiated dual degree options, completing coursework in both the School of Public Health and another University of Michigan school including the Ross School of Business, Michigan Engineering, the School of Social Work, the Medical School, and others.

Michigan Public Health offers a selection of hybrid programs that leverage both on-campus

The University of Michigan’s Master of Health Informatics program is an interdisciplinary
program offered by the School of Information, the School of Public Health and the
Medical School. Students take classes in all three schools and are trained in both
