Arnold S. Monto, MD, is the Thomas Francis Collegiate Professor Emeritus of Public Health and Professor Emeritus of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan. His work focuses on the epidemiology, prevention, and treatment of acute infections, especially respiratory infections like influenza. He led the landmark Tecumseh study and the ongoing HIVE study in Michigan, examining the effects of influenza vaccines. Dr. Monto is also involved in research on SARS-CoV-2 vaccines and has contributed to studies on antivirals, face masks, and hand hygiene. He co-directs the Michigan Center for Respiratory Virus Research and Response and has served on key national committees, such as the National Allergy and Infectious Diseases Advisory Council. He has received multiple awards, including the Alexander Fleming Award and the Charles Merieux Award, and is honored by the CDC's annual "Arnold S. Monto Award." Currently, he is the acting chair of the FDA's Vaccine and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee.

Philip S. Brachman, MD, (Professor, Emory University, Rollins School of Public Health) was former director of the Epidemiology Intelligence Service at CDC and a renowned educator in global health and field epidemiology. David Schottenfeld, MD, MS, (John G. Searle Emeritus Professor of Epidemiology, University of Michigan School of Public Health) is a renowned cancer epidemiologist, receiving numerous honors and awards. Dr. Schottenfeld also served as director of the Graduate Summer Session in Epidemiology from 1988–2004.
