Ashley is a health equity champion that seeks to find innovative solutions to reduce health disparities and increase healthcare access. Ashley began her public health career at the University of Michigan School of Public Health as the Project Assistant for the Black Women’s Wellness Project. After gaining project management skills, she moved on to serve as the Engagement Coordinator for the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Research Program at Henry Ford Health. There, she shaped the participant journey from outreach to retention and established their Community Advisory Board. While obtaining her MPH, Ashley transitioned to her current organization as a Program Manager at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Equity and Minority Health (OEMH). In her role, she implements equity-centered strategies to improve health and social service access and reduce health disparities by overseeing 15 mobile health units across Michigan. Outside of work, Ashley is actively involved in her community as the Scholarship Selection Chair for the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship at the university, a member of the NCNW Detroit Section, and volunteering with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to ensure students have access to music education.
