Research Training
Trainees participating in MHRT will explore the research process through hands-on activities with global partners. The goal is to increase not only awareness of research, but to strengthen the trainee's competency and confidence in conducting research. In addition, trainees will explore health disparities within the U.S. and global context.
At each research-training site, trainees will have an orientation to the research setting, the local community, and expectations of participation. Trainees will be directly involved in research activities that include participating in the regular routines of the research team, mentor one on one meetings, and regular contact with the UM project mentor. Please visit each site's page below for more information on potential research tasks and skills.
For the summer of 2025, UM-MHRT may offer research projects in up to 8 countries. View the countries below for descriptions of the sites and associated projects. Please note that project details and availability are subject to change through early 2025 due to partner needs.
We aim to keep project listings as up to date as possible, and we always welcome questions at Umich-MHRT@umich.edu.
