Ana Baylin, MD, DrPH

Dr. Baylin is interested in the nutritional determinants of cardiometabolic risk in both LMIC and HIC. She is interested in how dietary patterns affect the risk of cardiovascular disease, obesity, and metabolic syndrome. She is also studying important aspects of the diet such as organic food consumption and ultraprocessed foods. Lately, she has been developing interventions to prevent cardiometabolic risk at the work site level with the use of dynamic standing desks and skylights simulators.

Research Projects:
Baylin has collaborations with Global Health studies, such as ELEMENT and the Costa
Rican Heart Study, to evaluate nutritional determinants of cardiometabolic risk. At
the domestic level, she collaborates with SWAN investigators to examine the impact
of different dietary patterns and ultraprocessed foods in SWAN. She is also evaluating
the impact of organic food consumption on cardiometabolic risk in the Health and Retirement
Study.
