Research Interests & Projects

I study stroke across subtypes, with an emphasis on long-term recovery, rehabilitation dose, and value-based post-acute care. My dissertation links the population-based BASIC cohort to Medicare claims to quantify neurological, functional, cognitive, and quality-of-life trajectories; estimate causal effects of rehabilitation dose and timing; and evaluate cost-effectiveness and minimum viable dose targets for care. Methods include inverse probability weighting, marginal structural models, mixed-effects and survival modeling, multiple imputation, and gamma-GLMs with bootstrapped ICERs. I also develop and evaluate clinician-trained models to triage EHR patient-portal messages to improve workflow and access. Prior work includes NCD policy/implementation in South Asia and WHO technical package contributions for diabetes.
