Cluster Web Portal
OnDemand is a graphical web portal which allows users to work with the cluster through a web browser using point and click graphical windows in addition to the standard command line method.
With the web portal users can
- Launch interactive graphical RStudio using cluster nodes as the backend compute
- View and edit files
- Transfer files between the cluster and their laptops
- Launch a terminal window
- Submit and view jobs
- Launch a Linux desktop
The web portal eases the transition from performing research on a laptop to the cluster by providing a familiar interface in RStudio and gently introducing batch computing concepts without having to learn command line linux at the same time.
The web portal can be accessed by navigating to "biostat-login.sph.umich.edu" in a web browser.
